In the hotel and out and about...

A stone's throw from the Hotel Touraine, at number 80 rue Taitbout, there is a residential square called the Square d'Orléans. Enter the superb interior courtyard, listed as a historic monument. A lot of artists lived here including, among others, George Sand and Frédéric Chopin.

A little further on, you can discover the parish of Notre-Dame-de-Lorette, a masterpiece of 19th century architecture. Did you know? The name ""Lorette"" used to mean a lady of the night.

Stroll around Place Saint-Georges, where the lavish Hôtel de la Païva (no. 28) is located, one of the most exceptional buildings in New Athens.

If you turn right on rue Henry Monnier, then again on your right into rue Clauzel, at no. 14 you will see the former art shop belonging to Père Tanguy, whose customers included Pissarro, Monet, Renoir, and Van Gogh, etc. Père Tanguy was one of the impressionists’ first choice of art dealers.

Continuing on, you will reach rue des Martyrs, one of the most lively shopping streets in the district.

In this village, you can enjoy many walks among museums, theatres, small squares, markets, or find department stores such as the Galeries Lafayette and Printemps.
